Earlier tonight Superconductor posted that the 54 year old Siberian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky had died. Apparently he is not dead, but sleeping peacefully next to his wife Florence at his London home. Earlier today, a Russian news website had reported his death.

We here at Superconductor regret republishing the error and have great respect for Mr. Hvorostovsky, a singer we have covered in one media form or another since hearing him sing Prince Yeletsky in The Queen of Spades in 1999. We wish him a speedy recovery as he battles brain cancer, a condition that he announced in 2015.

We extend our relief, good wishes and a thank you to Mrs Hvorostovsky for the correction as posted on her Facebook.
