From today's New York Times article on the opening of Tanglewood and all the conducting changes which follow James Levine's decision not to conduct this summer as he recoveres from back surgery. The article ends with a short interview with Douglas Yeo, bass trombonist and 26-year veteran of the the Boston Symphony Orchestra:

“Whether we have Bernstein or Big Bird on the podium — and we’ve had both, the orchestra’s going to play.”

Tanglewood opens its summer season tonight with a performance of Mahler's Resurrection Symphony. Michael Tilson Thomas conducts, substituting for music director James Levine.
